At the SGB we feel that the education of prospective beekeepers
and established beekeepers alike, is essential.
The beginner class is an introduction to help you to
1. Decide if beekeeping is for you and
2. Learn as much as you can before you start your beekeeping adventure.

Join the Club!
It's a great way of learning and socialising with other beekeepers,
new and experienced.
Beekeeping Clubs are great for:
1. Learning about beekeeping
2. Preparing to become a beekeeper
3. Connecting with beekeeping networks
4. Ongoing education
5. Acquiring beekeeping equipment
6. Listening to beekeepers
7. Getting a mentor
8. Visiting local beekeepers at work
This course will help you to understand the needs of bees, seasonal care, the breeding,  development and general care of bees plus the monitoring, identification, testing and possible eradication of pests and diseases. You will also learn to to construct and maintain hive hardware, the use of different types of hives plus where to purchase hardware and how to buy or acquire bees for your hives.
