Australian Leptospermum (tea-tree)
Honey study: The University of Technology in Sydney is carrying out a research project looking for sources of active Australian Leptospermum Honey. The researchers are looking for active ingredients equivalent to the precious Manuka (tea-tree) Honey of New Zealand. A full study on Australian Leptospermum has never been done before and considering that Australia has over eighty species of Leptospermum in comparison to NZ's two species it is certainly time to find out if any of our tea-tree species carry the same healing properties as the honey from across the ditch. |
